Born in a small town called Gjøvik where most of the traditional music has been forgotten, Kirsti has taken it on herself to revive the music that now exists only in archives.
Kirsti's last years of studies revolved around the traditional folk music and songs from Norway. This is now her main focus, despite having a broad music education which includes studies in popular music, songwriting and music pedagogy.
Her fields of studies has brought her to live in England, tour in Eastern Africa and educate young musicians in Lebanon, but Kirsti´s true passion is to share the music from her home town with the world.
In 2019 Kirsti released her first solo album "Linden" which consists of traditional folk songs from Gjøvik and Vestoppland all sung the traditional way: all alone, with the voice as the only instrument.
